
The stud season at Bombora Downs is always a busy and exciting time of
the year with mares coming and going vet work 3 days a week a 100 plus foals delivered and of course the putting in place of next year's foal crop.The rest of the year use to be known as the off season but with the ever growing need for the other services Bombora offers means we stay busy.
Sale preparation, branding, dna and microchipping, education and weaning of foals and breaking in of older horses keeps us pretty occupied.
The handling and growing out of young horses is enormously satisfying
and is a role we are playing for more and more local breeders.

Apart from being a beautiful part of the world the Mornington Peninsula

Breeding: The accommodation and tailoring of your requirements either to our Stallions or others is but a phone call away.
Foaling: 24-7 care by experienced staff is available to all horse owners regardless of your breeding requirements.
Weaning: Branding, Vaccination's DNA testing, Micro chipping, 2-3 weeks of intensive handling of foals, separation and drying of mares off.
Yearling Prep: 8 weeks of individual preparation. 1st class presentation Inc marquee at sales venue. Pre sales promotion and Sirecam listings, x-rays and scoping on request.
Mixed Sales: Bombora attends most Melbourne Sales and can present your horses on the day.
Breaking In: 4-6 weeks of quiet work resulting in a soft well balanced forward moving horse ready for pre training when the time is right.
