This 2013 stud season marks ten years of operation for Bombora Downs, with 24 years of industry experience at all levels behind me I finally got the opportunity to realise a long held dream of owning my own farm and so on the 14 Feb 2003 I unrolled my swag (literally) and started building.
10 years on I can reflect with some satisfaction on the changes and development, from the bare wind swept paddock it was to a picturesque haven with the horses that are central to it all.
The stud season at Bombora Downs is always a busy and exciting time of the year with mares coming and going, vet work 3 days a week and around 100 plus foals to be delivered and of course the putting in place of next year's foal crop.
The rest of the year used to be known as the off season but with the ever growing need for the other services Bombora offers means we stay busy all year round.
